B.S.T. DEVELOPMENT DRIVER RYAN GAYLORD WINS FIRST IMCA MODIFIED MAIN EVENT
Broomfield, CO—The Blood Sweat and Tears (B.S.T.) Series development driver “Flyin” Ryan Gaylord picked up his first ever IMCA Modified feature event win Sunday afternoon at Phillips county Raceway. The win came a night after breaking while dominating the Jim Shelton Memorial Race at I-76 Speedway the night before.
Gaylord finished fourth in his heat race and lined up on the second row for the 20-lap feature. Gaylord jumped up to second in the early stages of the race and chased down leader James Krehmeyer. Gaylord passed Krehmeyer on the outside on lap 15 and held off John Hansen the final few laps for the big win.
“The last lap, felt like it was never going to end”, Gaylord explained. Gaylord continued “This one is for Jeff (Berard), and I need to thank everyone including my parents, Joe Bellm, my brother Tripp, Tony Berard, Brandon Glenn, Rod Glenn, and everyone else who has helped me get here”.
“A main event win is checked off Ryan’s goal list, the next goal is to win a BST Series race, and I see that being in the near future,” Ryan’s mentor Joe Bellm of the BST Driver Development program mentioned.
Ryans next race will be on Sunday July 3 on the incredible Belleville High Banks track in Belleville, KS.
